MiXue (China) and key takeaways from my China trip

As I near the end of my trip, I wanted to sneak in this tester to compare if there was any difference between the Chinese and Australian one. It is a notable brand as I think it is the brand with the most stores in China, and it enjoys a decent level of popularity.

Concluding remarks from my trip:

– Bubble tea in China is generally better than that in Australia. The biggest difference is they seem to obtain a good consistency more frequently, which shouldn’t be difficult to do.
– There are way more tea varieties available in China. I don’t think Australia can match this, as logistically it is a lot harder.
– There are also more topping varieties in China and pearls are not that popular.
– At least we now have HeyTea in Melbourne, which does a good job of representing a good bubble tea in China.
– I will miss my bubble tea costing an average of $3-4.
– I will likely take a break of at least a month or two from bubble.

Store: MiXue
Location: Kunming, China
Drink: Milk tea with three toppings.

Rating: C. A very basic drink, not offensive but with little points of attraction apart from its low cost. It was on the sweet side, and lacked any kind of sparkle. All three toppings had reasonable textures but then had little to no flavour. Interestingly, it means I enjoyed the Australian version of this brand more.
