KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken)

Yep, so you know it’s definitely not a mistake, I spelt it out. The cartoon Colonel is really KFC. They do milk teas but we have already just had a bubble tea so we chose their lemon tea as the drink in the meal combo.

Store: KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken)
Location: Kunming, China
Drink: Lemon tea

Rating: A high C+. You may think it’s sad that KFC in China is able to provide a drink that is better than the majority of dedicated bubble tea stores in Australia, but it’s important to note that this drink was about the same price as the average bubble tea in China. Where KFC is cheaper than average for food in Australia, it is more expensive than average in China and so with this pricing, I would guess the Chinese audience would be expecting something not bad, which is why based on price alone, a certain standard has to be expected from KFC in China.

The tea was solid and paired nicely with a lemon flavour. A simple drink done well, it is difficult to get a higher grade because of its relative ease of execution. However, not to take too much away from its credit, the majority of stores that receive a lower rating do a worse job.

You may also like to know the chicken was good too. I had the equivalent of a hot and spicy and I would say it was better than its counterpart in Australia.
